Things You Should Keep In Mind When Touring Around A Different Country

Being a tourist always means that you have to be constantly on your guard for fear of being ripped off by dubious retailers or being targeted by thieves and pickpockets.

This can be a lot more prevalent when you are in a foreign country and you do not understand the language. The dangers are very common place but here are a couple of tips that may help you to stay safe from these unscrupulous people.

1. Try not to carry too much cash with you at any one time. It is much safer to carry your money in the form of traveler’s checks.

2. Credit cards should only be taken if you are going to use them. Any surplus cards can be safely left at home. Always know your limit for your card. Some countries look upon trying to overspend on your card as fraud even if you have tried to do this by accident.

3. Make a photocopy of your passport and also your flight details and keep these somewhere safe just in case you need them.

4. Everybody tries to get a good deal when exchanging money but be wary of dealers that will give you fake money or even short change you when doing this. There are many legitimate places to exchange money such as the hotels, airport or even the local banks. Some of these may charge slightly more than certain traders but at least you know they are legitimate.

5. Try to split any cash that you are carrying with you. Place a small amount in your purse and the rest in your pocket just in case you lose your purse. This way you sill have ash with you.

6. Never under any circumstance should you leave any luggage unattended. This is against the law in the airports and could end up with it being confiscated or worse.

7. Try to keep alert at all times and notice what is going on around you and you should stay safe.
