Cherokee Park Neighborhood in Sarasota, Florida

Do you need to find a great neighborhood in Sarasota, Florida? There are many fabulous places to live in this beach town. You can find a great home on Longboat Key, Bird Key, Siesta Key, Lido Key, Casey Key, Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota. Do your neighborhood requirements sound anything like this?

An older more established area

Convenient location

Good schools

Flourishing, adult landscaping

Homes on the higher end of the price spectrum

Family friendly community

Then you need to consider the Cherokee Park neighborhood. This highly sought after community is located in the ‘West of the Trail’ area just south of downtown Sarasota. People moving to this area often ask about this area because of its charm and character. You won’t find rows and rows of houses that all look alike. Every home is different and exudes its own character.

One drive through Cherokee Park and the last thing that will come to mind is ‘cookie cutter’. All of the homes are different shapes, sizes and colors. That is one of the main appeals of this 93 home community. It is a clever mix of old homes that have been extensively remodeled as well as newer homes that replaced older ones. The lots are very spaciousness providing that grand, estate feel. Yet, with an in town location.

The community is very close to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital so Doctors and other medical professionals. Other homeowners include attorneys, retirees and young professionals.

Convenience is a great reason to live in Cherokee Park. Residents are close to just about everything Sarasota has to offer. Residents can be shopping in the downtown district within just a few minutes. Feel the need for a pretty beach? Lido Key beach and Siesta Key beach are not very far away. On a very nice day you might even ride there on your bike. Southside Elementary school is within walking distance. The stores and restaurants of the Southside Village are also within a walk or bike ride. The location is almost perfect.

Cherokee Park homes are not considered cheap. The home prices always exceed the area averages. That is because people really want to live there. Homes generally start around $500,000 and then go into the millions. A bay front estate sold in 2007 for $6,600,000. That is pretty good company. If you are looking for a great community that is also a solid investment then this might be the best place for you.
